UWS Completes Intensive Eye-Care Training in New Delhi

A major leap forward for our Nepal eye-care initiative! In the beginning of the year, six dedicated staff members from United World Schools (UWS) traveled to New Delhi, India, for an intensive, week-long training session hosted by our partners at VisionSpring.

From Training to Action
The training was designed to be hands-on and comprehensive. Our team returned to Nepal not only with the necessary equipment but, more importantly, with the confidence and technical expertise to run eye camps independently.
"The training met our expectations perfectly. Our team is now equipped with the knowledge needed to help UWS students in an efficient and professional way." — UWS Team Feedback

Next Steps in Nepal
While the team is ready to go, we are mindful of the local calendar. To avoid disrupting students during the upcoming election period and final examinations, the official rollout will begin with preparatory coordination in mid-April, with the full-scale screening camps launching in May 2026.
We are incredibly proud of the team’s hard work in Delhi and can’t wait to see the first children in Nepal receive their life-changing glasses this spring.

Outlook: Building a Strong Network for Global Eye Health

At WorldLink-Vision, we believe in the power of collaboration. Our past work was defined by building a network that makes our aid more efficient and sustainable. In addition to our work in Nepal, we initiated talks with the VisionSpring Foundation in India. VisionSpring is a pioneer in producing durable frames and lenses specifically designed for remote areas. This cooperation strengthens our logistics and ensures high-quality care during our screening camps.
What’s next?
Our vision is global. After completing the pilot phase in Nepal, we plan to expand the "UWS/WLV Eye Health School Program" to other countries including Cambodia, Madagascar, and Myanmar.

Supporting Kinderklinikkonzerte: Bringing Music and Joy to Children in Hospitals

We are now supporting Kinderklinikkonzerte e.V., whose personal surprise concerts bring comfort, inclusion, and happy moments to young hospital patients across Germany. An organisation whose cause is very close to our heart. Through our donations, we are helping them continue creating these special musical experiences for children and their families. "Educate the Future" – Launching the Eye Health School Program with UWS

Education begins with the ability to see the chalkboard. This is why our heart project is to work togethere with United World Schools (UWS). UWS is renowned for building and maintaining schools in the world’s most impoverished and remote regions.
Through the new "UWS/WLV Eye Health School Program," we are going a step further: ensuring that no child falls behind due to an undetected vision problem.

Our program goals:
- Establish regular eye screening camps at UWS schools.
- Train UWS staff to conduct professional vision screenings.
- Provide glasses on-site or refer children with serious eye conditions for specialized treatment.
This pilot project starts in Nepal and is designed to serve as a long-term model for schools in other countries where UWS operates.

Clear Sight for Nepal: WorldLink-Vision and GoodVision (EinDollarBrille e.V.) Launch Joint Mission

Our very first milestone in our project work: We have successfully initiated a cooperation with GoodVision (OneDollarGlasses) to revolutionise eye care in the most remote regions of Nepal. Until now, GoodVision was not active in Nepal. WLV successfully encouraged the GoodVision team to expand their reach to the Himalayas using their proven technology - the mobile "bending machine."

What makes this project special?
By manufacturing glasses frames locally and fitting them with high-quality "pop-in" lenses, vision impairments can be corrected directly on-site for both children and adults.

Empowering Voices: Our Partnership with Sakhi Kunj in New Delhi

We are excited for our new collaboration with Sakhi Kunj, an inspiring small local organization in New Delhi dedicated to fostering independence for local women. At Sakhi Kunj, they empower women by providing materials, training, and career opportunities to craft beautiful jewelry, arts, crafts, and textiles. To launch this initiative with a personal touch, we spent a full day visiting each woman currently working with Sakhi Kunj. It was a privilege to hear their stories and see their dedication firsthand.
